Why is SE1 Medical considered to be the best clinic in London to have InMode Morpheus8 & Lumecca IPL treatments?

Are you CQC registered?

Yes, we are CQC registered and you can find our updated status here. The CQC monitors, inspects and regulates healthcare providers to ensure they meet strict standards of safety, quality, and care. This includes medical aesthetic clinics that carry out regulated medical activities, such as treatments involving prescription only medicines or certain advanced procedures.
CQC registration sets a medical aesthetic clinic apart because it demonstrates medical legitimacy, accountability, and patient-first care.
Here’s why it’s important:
-
Higher standards of patient safety CQC registered clinics must follow robust clinical governance, infection control, safeguarding, and risk management protocols, far beyond basic cosmetic regulations.
-
Proper medical oversight
-
Registration confirms that treatments are delivered under appropriate medical leadership, with qualified professionals, clear prescribing pathways, and emergency procedures in place.
-
Accountability and transparency
-
CQC clinics are inspected and held accountable. If standards drop, action is taken. Clinics without CQC registration are not subject to this level of independent oversight.
-
Ethical and regulated practice

This is microdermabrasion (mechanical exfoliation), microneedling (0.5mm for proven skin rejuvenation), serum induction therapy (bespoke serums for every indication and/or skin goal) & LED Light Therapy.
This treatment provides a phenomenal hydrated glow the day after treatment, then you see improvements in all areas as your body begins to lay down new collagen fibroblasts and elastin over the next 3 to 4 weeks All this with minimal downtime (think post work-out redness for between 15 minutes and a few hours, rather than tomato red for days!)

Where do you source the products used in clinic and sold to patients from?
We purchase all of our products used in clinic, or skincare sold to our patients from approved and licensed pharmacists (Church Pharmacy & Health Xchange Pharmacy) and direct from the approved distributor or direct from the company when considering skincare (SkinCeuticals, Meder, SkinBetter Science, ZO, Obagi, Reform Skincare, Epionce, Totally Derma, Advanced Nutrition Programme...)

Will I look natural?
At SE1 Medical Aesthetics, our ethos is clear and simple to understand, we only wish our patients to leave clinic looking completely natural, a refreshed, rejuvenated and hydrated version of themselves at their age. We do not endorse trying to match unrealistic expectations. We are PRO-AGE champions, ageing is a privilege and we are here to offer our patients only the best in safe and natural options with a focus on regenerative medicine, rather than traditional 'fillers.'

Which treatment is right for me?
The first time you book an appointment with one of our expert aesthetic doctors, you will realise that this appointment is titled a 'New Consultation.' You cannot book directly for a specific treatment as we are regulated by the CQC and the GMC and we are firm believers in ethical and expert led practice. Only after carrying out a thorough consultation can it be decided what your treatment plan may be, or, if in fact you are even the correct candidate for treatment, based on an overall health & mental health assessment. The doctor will take time to discuss your goals and analyse your anatomy and skin condition. You can then have treatment same day if it is deemed safe by the doctor carrying out your consultation.

Are aesthetic treatments safe?

When performed by trained medical professionals using approved products, aesthetic treatments are considered safe. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks, which will be discussed during your consultation.

How do I book a specific treatment as you don't have them listed on your online booking page?

We run a booking system that allows you to book very few doctor led services directly, these being only Morpheus8, microneedling over 0.75mm & Lumecca IPL. For every other injectable treatment with our doctors, you can book either a 'New patient consultation with an aesthetic doctor' or a 'Return patient treatment appointment with an aesthetic doctor.' This is because we believe that for our injectable treatments, every patient should have a prior consultation which includes a health assessment and also an opportunity for the doctor to manage the patient's expectations - is the choice of treatment suitable for that patient?
New patients always have a thorough consultation and can then have same day treatment, if deemed safe and appropriate by their doctor.
Return patients book an hour slot with the aesthetic doctor, they mention the treatment/s they would like to be considered for during that appointment during the booking process so that their doctor is aware.
Every patient is different. A consultation allows us to assess your suitability, understand your goals, discuss options, and create a personalised treatment plan that’s safe, appropriate, and delivers the best results. This ensures you receive the right treatment, not just a booked one.

Do you carry out any medical procedures other than cosmetic services?

Yes. In addition to cosmetic treatments, we offer a range of primary healthcare medical services provided by qualified clinicians.
These include GP consultations, health assessments, and medical evaluations, with clear pathways for diagnostics such as blood tests and imaging, as well as evidencebased treatment and referral where needed. Our focus is on identifying the cause of your concern, supporting effective treatment, and guiding you toward the best possible health outcome.
If you’re unsure whether your concern is medical or cosmetic, our team is happy to advise and ensure you’re seen by the appropriate clinician.

You have 2 clinic locations, which clinic is for which type of booking please?

Due to differing licensing arrangements across our two locations, medical services governed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are provided exclusively at our Bermondsey Street clinic. As a result, only this location is authorised to deliver regulated medical care. Mill Street is therefore where we are currently carrying out our 'non-medical' services.

Why is SE1 Medical considered to be the best clinic in London to have InMode Morpheus8 & Lumecca IPL treatments?
Only our team of expert aesthetic doctors carry out these treatments. Dr Lorenzo Garagnani, SE1 Medical Director is an advanced trainer for InMode on both of these devices, training practitioners from all over the globe. This, combined with our doctors' expert knowledge, understanding of anatomy with regards to the media reports of practitioners causing patient's to have 'fat-loss' and differing anaesthetic options to manage pain, rates us the best clinic option in London.

The two biggest perceived problems with Morpheus8 are:

-
Pain and downtime – Even with numbing cream, treatments can be uncomfortable, especially on sensitive areas like the jawline. After the procedure, patients may experience redness, swelling, bruising, or tiny grid marks that can last several days, which may be inconvenient for those seeking minimal downtime. AT SE1 MEDICAL WE PROVIDE A THOROUGH CONSULTATION PRIOR TO YOUR TREATMENT AND UNLIKE MANY CLINICS, WE ALSO OFFER NERVE BLOCKS FOR THOSE WHO FEEL NUMBING CREAM MAY NOT BE SUFFICIENT FOR THEIR PERSONAL PAIN THRESHOLD
-
Media reports about unintended fat loss – Some media and social posts have claimed that Morpheus8 causes excessive fat loss in areas where it’s not desired. In reality, when the treatment is planned and delivered by experienced clinicians with appropriate energy settings and depth, unintended fat loss is rare. Proper consultation and conservative treatment planning help minimise this risk. OUR TEAM OF AESTHETIC DOCTORS THOROUGHLY ASSESS YOUR ANATOMY AND GOALS BEFORE CARRYING OUT THIS TREATMENT. THEY ARE HIGHLY SKILLED IN UNDERSTANDING THE BOUNDARIES WITH REGARDS TO THE FREQUENCY USED, AND, THE DEPTH OF NEEDLES FOR EACH SPECIFIC AREA OF THE FACE OR BODY BEING TREATED. OUR PATIENTS ARE EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THEIR RESULTS AS THEIR EXPECTATIONS AND COMFORT LEVELS HAVE BEEN MET PRIOR TO TREATMENT
