VAGINAL REJUVENATION
Non-surgical cosmetic procedures with our plastic surgeon, Aurora Almadori
Women’s intimate cosmetic issues have been considered taboo for too long! But now, with the development of the labial puff, we can offer a non-surgical treatment for those women who suffer from loss of volume in the labia majora.
Labial fillers are used to increase the volume of the labia majora (the larger, outer genital lips) This loss of volume is common in women as they age especially after childbirth, menopause, and extreme weight loss.
Until recently, the only option for labial rejuvenation was surgery. The labial puff procedure using DESIRIAL® PLUS filler injections takes only 20 minutes and leaves you with increased body confidence for up to 12 months.
There are two types of Intimate Care products available for women at SE1 Medical Aesthetics London:
DESIRIAL® and DESIRIAL® PLUS. The products are different due to the texture of the gel, they are more or less fluid, and are used to treat different types of cosmetic problems in patients.
These procedures assist to improve:
Flattening and laxity
Asymmetry
Confidence
Loss of volume
Conceal a prominent labia minora
Intimacy
Loss of labido
Labial laxity occurs when the outer labial tissue loses elasticity and in turn has a sagging appearance. The main reason for reduced plumpness in the labia is aging. As you increase in age, your body sadly decreases it's collagen production!
How can hyaluronic acid injections offer relief to women suffering from vulvo-vaginal issues?
When injected, the hyaluronic acid gel directly enters the vulvo-vaginal tissues and efficiently helps rehydrate the zone. The product injected then indirectly creates a mechanical pressure on the cells in the vaginal mucosa, which in turn, stimulates their activity.
Through the stimulation of these cells, the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibres is boosted and therefore helps improve the overall quality of the vulvo-vaginal mucosa1.
What does an intimate care injection procedure involve?
A local anaesthetic may be suggested before injection of either DESIRIAL® and/or DESIRIAL® PLUS to ensure more comfort during the treatment.
DESIRIAL® is usually injected into the vulvar area and at the entry of the vagina. Your surgeon will use a needle when injecting to ensure that the product is administered superficially, just below the mucosal tissue to ensure rehydration of the area.
As for DESIRIAL® PLUS, your surgeon will inject it under the dermis of the outer lips (Labia Majora). To avoid any injuries, a cannula is used to safely disperse the product evenly within the outer lips. The procedure usually takes about 20 minutes.
