Seffiline®
Seffiline® with Dr Lorenzo Garagnani
This technique uses the patient's own micro & nano purified fat to restore tissue quality, improve dermal structure and support long term skin integrity.
A completely natural regenerative form of aesthetic medicine, using only your own natural stem cells, growth factors and exosomes.
The process involves selecting high quality adipose tissue (fat from the outer thigh), isolating its regenerative cellular components and re-injecting it into areas requiring regeneration. This is a one stop shop treatment, no need to process the fat or store it at another facility, like other systems, the fat is harvested and re-injected during one session.
What is Seffiline®
Seffiline® is an all-in-one, disposable medical device for Autologous Regenerative Therapy. The procedure involves extracting the patient's own fat tissue (adipose tissue) and using the naturally occurring stem cells, exosomes and growth factors within it for various regenerative treatments.
The core technology uses a patented guiding cannula system, known as the Superficial Enhanced Fluid Fat Injection (SEFFI) technique, which simplifies the process and ensures tissue is harvested from the correct depth to maximize the viability of the regenerative cells.
Seffiline® offers different kits tailored to specific medical fields:
-
SEFFILLER®: Used in aesthetic medicine for facial anti-ageing treatments.
-
SEFFIHAIR®: Used for the treatment of hair loss and alopecia.
The primary advantage of the Seffiline® system is that it makes sophisticated regenerative procedures safer, more standardised, and accessible to patients.

Seffilline® procedures are minimally invasive, walk-in, walk-out treatments performed under local anesthesia in a medical facility, typically lasting an hour
It is an autologous fat transfer method using a patient's own tissue to rejuvenate the tissue.
The procedure is broken down into three main stages:
1. Harvesting the Adipose Tissue
-
Donor Site Selection: A small amount of superficial fat tissue is typically taken from areas where it is more compact, such as the outer thigh or abdomen.
-
Anesthesia: A local anesthetic is administered to the donor area to ensure the procedure is comfortable and pain-free.
-
Collection: A specialised, small-diameter (0.8 mm side port holes) micro-cannula within a patented guide is inserted into the superficial adipose layer. The guide standardises the depth of collection (around 15 mm below the skin) to access tissue rich in Adipose-Derived Stem Cells (ADSCs). A gentle negative pressure (using a specific syringe with a plunger lock) is used to extract the fat in small, micro-fragmented clusters, which preserves cell viability and ensures the tissue is already fluid.
2. Preparation and Processing
-
Minimal Manipulation: The collected tissue is transferred to a reservoir syringe and mixed with a saline solution.
-
Decantation: The syringe is placed vertically for approximately five minutes to allow the contents to stratify by gravity, separating the fat tissue from the washing liquid and any free oil.
-
Washing: The washing liquid (containing blood and lidocaine) is discharged, leaving the purified, stem cell-enriched micro-fat ready for injection. No complex or traumatic processing like centrifugation or enzymatic digestion is required, which helps maintain the regenerative properties of the tissue.
3. Re-implantation (Grafting)
-
Recipient Area Preparation: The targeted facial areas (e.g., cheeks, temples, jawline, chin, periocular area or any thinning hair area) are disinfected, and a local anesthetic may be used.
-
Injection: The prepared micro-fat is transferred into smaller, fine-gauge cannulas. The physician strategically "sows" the fat in small aliquots into the superficial subcutaneous layer using a fanning, retrograde technique. This careful placement avoids creating lumps and ensures optimal integration and revascularization of the graft by the surrounding host tissue.
-
Post-Procedure: The treated area may be gently massaged for even distribution.
-
The regenerative action of the stem cells improves skin quality (tone, elasticity, and radiance) over the following weeks and months, with peak results typically visible after 2 to 4 months.
