Assessment

While you play your instrument

Where

139-143 Bermondsey Street, London Bridge

The first & only clinic of its kind

The world's first hand clinic built around how musicians play.

Lorenzo Garagnani is the first in the world to run a hand clinic like this, and The Backstage Hand Clinic remains the only one: a specialist hand clinic, fully equipped for musicians, where your hands and wrists are assessed while you play.

Musicians rely on exceptional precision, endurance, and coordination. Even minor pain, stiffness, weakness, or altered sensation can have a significant impact on performance. Our clinic is designed specifically for performers, combining specialist hand expertise with an understanding of the unique physical demands of professional and amateur musicians.

Lorenzo Garagnani, the founder of the clinic, is not only a world-recognised hand expert but also a music expert and has a performing musician background.

A performance-based assessment

We assess your hands while you play.

What makes The Backstage Hand Clinic different is our performance-focused approach.

Rather than assessing your symptoms in isolation, we evaluate your hands while you perform on your own instrument whenever possible. By observing technique, posture, movement patterns, and the specific demands of performance, we can identify problems that may not be apparent during a conventional clinical examination. This allows for a more accurate diagnosis and a treatment plan tailored to your individual playing style.
