We can't stop smiling! Our very own Lorenzo Garagnani, Medical Director of SE1, NHS surgeon, husband, father & friend to many has been awarded the Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy. He has been presented with this prestigious honour in recognition of his career and services to surgery in the UK and also for his work collaborating with the Consulate General of Italy in London, providing a task force of volunteers throughout the pandemic.
What is even more incredible, is that when the task force was initiated, Lorenzo was becoming a father - his daughter was born during the harsh lockdown of May 2020! He tirelessly gave up his weekends and evenings (as if you already don't get enough sleep with a new baby!) to help the cause.
We had a fantastic night celebrating with Lorenzo and the whole team - Nefer Fallico, Aurora Almadori & Emma Costello would like to congratulate him wholeheartedly!
What a team we have!
