DR AURORA ALMADORI
OSI MD PGDip (Aesthetic & Wellness Medicine) FRCS EBHS Diploma in Hand Surgery
Aurora is a plastic surgeon with a specialist interest in women's health, vulval functional issues and regenerative medicine. After obtaining her degree in Medicine and Surgery (full marks), she completed her specialty training in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery (full marks), and two Masters in Plastic Surgery.
She is currently an academic based at University College of London & Royal Free Hospital, and her PhD work mainly focuses on new treatments for fibrosis and scarring of facial and genital area.
For her research, Aurora has been awarded eleven awards and prizes from different scientific societies including the Royal Society of Medicine RSM, the British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease BSSVD, and the International Society of Plastic Regenerative Surgery ISPRES.
Aurora has published more than twenty scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and has contributed to five textbooks of plastic surgery.
Aurora has experience with a full range of cosmetic treatment and is particular attentive to details. She enjoys seeing the impact that her work can have on clients’ quality of life and is fully committed to work together to achieve the best possible outcome.
She gives importance to innovations and updates regularly by attending main conferences on aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery, where she is regularly invited as speaker.
Aurora is member of the main national and international Plastic Surgery scientific societies and currently she holds the following positions: treasurer of the IMSOGB; referent of the ‘FGM section’ with the Italian Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery SICPRE; part of the ‘Cosmetic Committee’ and ‘Vulvar Awareness Day Committee’ of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease ISSVD.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, she has been involved with philanthropic initiatives to facilitate plastic surgery in Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) survivors.
